  • Well, I care deeply about the so-called hazing that goes on in the college fraternities today---and I get just as angry about it--whether the victim is black or white or Hispanic or Asian. Every time one of hazing incidents hits the news, the fraternity or club will say it's tradition.

  • My Prez not only did the right thing; it was also brilliant political strategy. The Prez shut down the "dog-whistle"--the righties who hate him weren't going to vote for him anyway, and he's probably gained progressive and independent votes.

  • I am 68 years old and I've been a liberal, progressive, Democrat and civil-rights advocate since I was 9 years old. I've voted in every election since I was 21 in 1964. Before the year 2000, I might be disappointed my candidate lost but I wasn't particularly concerned.

  • If Obama had come out strong on health care to begin with by saying it would be Medicare for everyone, instead of being weak and not engaged after he was sworn in. In March of '09 he met with big health insurance. That, to me, was a sign that he sold out.

  • Unfortunately, ever since the Unibomber, wearing hoody makes others involuntarily suspicious. Robbers wear hoodys when they rob convenient stores. If I had a teenage kid, I wouldn't let him wear a hoody. I want to make it clear that I think Trayvon was murdered by Zimmerman.

  • Zimmerman must've had his hands on Trayvon and Trayvon had to defend himself, thus Zimmerman's injuries. Then Zimmerman got the best of Trayvon (250lbs v. 140lbs) and murdered him. Zimmerman was chasing Trayvon; not the other way around.
